What are the machines that you are referring to that divide a 750mL bottle into 100mL bottles? I was wondering what impact this process would have on the wine such as being exposed to air weeks before you would drink it.

Also, what is your take on the impact of shipping on the wine? Should Royal be shipping them so that they have time to rest, such as 1-3 days.

    For full openness:
    – did you receive money or any other item of value from Royal or an affiliate for this post?
    – are you receiving money or any other item of value from Royal or an affiliate for the use of the ‘MUSINGS’ discount code?
    – will you be personally purchasing the tasting kit with your own funds?

    Thank you!

      Hello Ira,

Let me start by saying I HAVE NEVER and never will take ANY money for my blog or what I write. I am at times given wines to taste that I did not pay for, but as always, I write what I taste – not what the person sending me the wines wants to be said. I hope that is clear – I state it every year – but clearly, I did not make it clear enough – so thanks for asking.

Next, the machine is n to something I have intimate knowledge about. Still, it uses argon, but I do not think it was in a vacuum environment, but I am not sure on this matter.

Next, Shipping, being ground will have zero impact on the wine. I have never felt bottle shock from road travel or boat, just plane.

Finally, as stated – I do not get paid for anything I post, never have, and never will. If they send me a kit – or they give me a KFWE pass, like in the past, I state that and I am always honest in my review of the tasting or the outcome.

      Thanks

  3. […] So, with the pandemic still clearly hanging over our heads, Royal Wine decided to go the virtual route and to ship certain wines, from their large portfolio, in small bottles. I discussed this in my KFWV post. […]
