You’re not at all the only one who thinks so (actually many French people I know say that) but personally as much as I like the Petit Castel I never ever thought that any vintage was remotely as good or better than the Grand Vin.

Not remotely as good? Especially looking at it now after 15 years – the PC ’03 has held up much better IMHO. Hard for me to remember what I thought on release – I don’t have notes that go back that far – and I don’t have your crazy memory for each tasting (though I think I have gotten better at that with age)…..
